Candidates – How To Handle A Written Assessment With 5QLive
5QLive empowers companies to screen candidates using a range of methods, including one-way video interviewing and written assessments. It is important to ensure you complete all parts of your assessment for your application to progress.
This guide will break down everything you need to succeed with your 5QLive written assessment.
How To Know If There Is A Written Component:
When you log into 5QLive’s video interviewing platform using your unique code you will arrive on your dashboard. Here, you will see an overview of the assessment and a pop-up tutorial will load, walking you through the steps on the platform.
If you have a written assessment it will be clearly stated on the Dashboard, including the number of questions and the total time to answer. Adding a written assessment is an optional feature, meaning not every candidate will have one as part of the process so do not be alarmed if you cannot see this.
How To Prepare:
The best way to prepare for a written assessment is to start by reviewing the job description for the position you applied for. What crucial skills have they asked for and then consider how they could use a written assessment to test these skills. They could simply be questions about yourself to test your written language skills, or behavioural questions to see your job-fit, or industry-specific to pose a problem for you to solve which would reflect the nature of the job you have applied for. Just like for an in-person interview, preparation is the key to success.
How To Complete A Written Assessment:
Although you can complete the written assessment on any device, we recommend that you use a laptop or desktop for your most efficient typing speed.
Start by closing all other tabs and log into 5QLive using your interview code. Click the start written assessment button.
When you begin you will see the question at the top of the screen and a timer will immediately start to count down to give you a few moments to read the question before the time to answer begins.
Just like in a one-way video interview, you will see the time bar at the top of the screen which will show you how long you have to answer that question. Simply type the answers into the box in the middle of the screen. You cannot copy and paste text to help prevent cheating.
Either you will run out of time to answer, and the system will automatically proceed onto the next question, or select the next question button in the right-hand side of the screen to proceed to the next until you reach the end of the assessment.
Congratulations – you have now submitted a written assessment through 5QLive.
